The variety is the result of clonal selection within the traditional Hungarian variety Kadarka. This clone is classified as a wine-grape variety intended for winemaking, ensuring the production of wines with a characteristic spicy aroma.

The plant is prone to over-ripening and infection by Botrytis, which requires special attention during cultivation. Due to its high sensitivity to grey mold, the production significance of this clone is declining in modern conditions, as selection efforts are searching for more resistant variants.
