Kalloniatiko is a local wine grape variety of the island of Lesbos. In winemaking, it is most often used in blends with the Fokiano, Mandilaria, or Assyrtiko varieties. The variety is included in the official state catalogs of grape varieties of Greece and is authorized for wine production.
Wines made from this variety are characterized by good structure. When cultivated on volcanic soils, typical of the Chidira village area, the wines exhibit pronounced minerality and a long finish. In modern winemaking on Lesbos, organic cultivation of this variety is practiced.
