The variety originates from the mountainous region of Aigialia and the surroundings of Kalavryta in the northwest Peloponnese. The plant has medium vigor, the leaf is medium, rounded, five-lobed, and deeply dissected. The bisexual flower sometimes shows a tendency for shedding and the formation of loose clusters, which is due to the presence of male or underdeveloped flowers.

The cluster is medium, cylindro-conical in shape. The berry is medium, slightly oval, light red in color with a thin bloom, the skin is of medium thickness, the flesh is juicy with a neutral taste. The variety is productive, resistant to downy mildew, but susceptible to gray mold, and prefers calcareous and clay soils at altitudes from 700 to 1050 meters.

The variety is also known under the name Agoumastos Kokkino. It should be distinguished from the variety Psilomavro Kalavryton.
