Kakotrygis is an ancient variety of folk selection, adapted to the climate of the island of Corfu. The variety is a wine grape used for creating white wines with moderate acidity, distinguished by aromas of citrus, lemongrass, and green apples, as well as aging potential.

The name of the variety means "difficult to harvest" due to the presence of stiff and strong stems. The plant belongs to early-ripening varieties and shows susceptibility to downy mildew. There is a variety with dark berries known as Kakotrygis Kokkino.
