The variety is characterized by vigorous growth and lush vegetation with long, reddish-brown vines. The leaf is medium-sized, five-lobed, with dense tomentose pubescence on the underside. The flower is perfect.
The cluster is large, pyramidal, and compact. Berries are medium or large in size, round, and yellow-green in color. The variety is distinguished by regular and abundant yields; the sugar content in the must is 18–20%.
The culture is traditionally grown on the islands of Vis, Hvar, and Korčula. The variety requires deep soils and is most often used to create blended wines, although single-varietal versions are also found.
