The variety is of Croatian origin from the Northern Dalmatia region. The vines are characterized by vigorous growth and good shoot maturation. The leaves are five-lobed, entire, and glabrous. The flowers are hermaphroditic. The bunches are medium-sized, cylindrical or conical, and compact. The berries are medium, black, slightly oval, with juicy flesh.
The variety has a late ripening period with medium to high yield. It possesses moderate resistance to fungal diseases, is sensitive to weather fluctuations, and is prone to flower abortion. It is capable of accumulating large amounts of sugar and is used to create dessert, rosé, and light-red dry wines, often in blends.
