The variety is of Central European origin, despite its name. The plant is characterized by vigorous vine growth. Clusters are large, often winged, and medium-dense. Berries are medium-sized, round, dark blue or black-blue in color with juicy, non-pigmented pulp.
The variety belongs to the early or mid-early group; harvest begins in the second half of September. It has low resistance to fungal diseases, including downy mildew, powdery mildew, and Botrytis, as well as low frost resistance. The thin skin of the berries makes them sensitive to unfavorable weather conditions.
The variety is a technical (wine) one. It is used for the production of light, harmonious wines with low tannin content, moderate acidity, and floral aroma, as well as for creating rosé wines and blends.
