The variety has ancient Spanish origins and is a natural hybrid of the Hebén variety and an unknown parent. The plant is characterized by moderate vigor and hermaphroditic flowers. The vines are capable of tolerating drought, heat, and strong winds.
The variety possesses resistance to Botrytis cinerea, yet it is susceptible to Oidium and Plasmopara viticola. The yield of the variety is estimated as modest. Dark purple berries have juicy pulp and are used for creating aromatic wines with soft tannins or as part of blends.
