Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is autochthonous to the Savoie region in France and is extremely rare. Genetically, it is an independent variety that became one of the parents of the Syrah variety as a result of a natural cross with Dureza.

The vines have medium vigor, and the flower is hermaphroditic. The leaf is medium-sized, round, five-lobed, light green, with weak or absent pubescence. The bunches are medium, dense, and cylindrical or cylindro-conical in shape. The berries are medium, golden-white in color with a thin but firm skin and a neutral flavor.

The variety belongs to the late ripening period and is characterized by unstable and low yields. Resistance to fungal diseases is medium, with susceptibility to grey mold noted. It is used exclusively for the production of white wines capable of long aging for up to 30 years.
