The variety is the result of a natural cross between Mondeuse blanche and Tressot. Morphologically, it is characterized by a shoot tip with high density of prostrate hairs, yellowish young leaves, and pentagonal adult leaves. The berries are small, with thick skin, and dark purple in color.
The variety is sensitive to drought, chlorosis, mites, as well as downy mildew and powdery mildew. When grown, it requires yield control not exceeding 60 hectoliters per hectare. The wines are distinguished by their deep color and aromas of berries, spices, eucalyptus, violet, and graphite.
