Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is autochthonous to Greece, historically associated with the Laconia region and the Cyclades. The vine is characterized by vigorous growth, high vitality, and medium yield. The variety is adapted to growing conditions in elevated areas with a cool climate, while being sensitive to drought.

The grapes are used exclusively in winemaking, being the only white Greek variety used in the production of three types of wines with Protected Designation of Origin (PDO). The resulting wines possess medium body, moderate acidity, and notes of apricot, flowers, and white pepper.
