Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is of Spanish origin and is known by a number of synonyms, including Eva, Chelva, Mantuo, and Diagalves. Genetic studies have confirmed its origin from the crossing of Hebén and Dedo de Dama varieties.

The grape is universal: it is used for fresh consumption and in winemaking. It is characterized by a hermaphroditic flower type, and the white wines produced from it are distinguished by a moderate level of alcohol and acidity. Variability in seed characteristics depending on growing conditions is noted.
