The variety belongs to the species Vitis vinifera and is intended for the production of red wines. Wines produced from it are characterized as light and drinkable, possessing a ruby-red color and soft tannins; therefore, the variety is often used in blends. The fruit ripening period is mid-late, and the variety's yield is high.
The plant's flower is hermaphroditic. The leaves are medium-sized, pentagonal, five-lobed, with dense pubescence on the underside. The clusters are medium or large in size, conical in shape, and of medium density. The berries are medium-sized, round, black in color with a waxy bloom, and have thin skin and juicy pulp.
The variety is susceptible to downy mildew and gray mold, and requires covering of the bushes during the winter period.
