Nemadex Alain Bouquet is a complex intergeneric hybrid, in the breeding of which Vitis vinifera, Muscadinia rotundifolia species and the 140 Ruggeri rootstock were used. The variety is intended exclusively for grafting grapevines and is not used for berry production.

The main feature of the variety lies in its high resistance to Xiphinema index nematodes, which are vectors of the grapevine fanleaf virus. Vines grafted onto it demonstrate resistance to flavescence dorée, however, studies show that this rootstock may reduce yield and shoot vigor compared to other rootstocks.

The plant is classified as a hermaphroditic variety with black berries. Its use is limited to specific conditions, as the variety is less adapted to calcareous and dry soils than traditional rootstock forms.
