The variety belongs to the category of wine grape varieties. Clonal selection of this accession in Hungary was aimed at increasing yield by 25–30% and improving the quality of planting material compared to the base variety.
The base variety Piros tramini is characterized by a short growing season of approximately 218 days. The grapes have the ability to accumulate sugars and aromatic substances necessary for the production of high-quality wines, but are distinguished by relatively low yield and high requirements for green canopy management.
