Variety description

The vine is characterized by medium vigor. Clusters are small or medium-sized, weighing 80–100 g, typically cylindrical or cylindrical-conical in shape. Berries are medium-sized, round, greenish-white with a yellowish hue and dark spots, covered by a thin but firm skin.

The variety possesses high winter hardiness, and late bud burst allows it to avoid spring frosts. Riesling is susceptible to diseases such as powdery mildew, crown gall, and European grapevine moth, although under specific conditions, Botrytis cinerea promotes the formation of noble rot.

Wines from this grape possess a complex aromatic profile, including notes of citrus, apple, and peach in their youth, and characteristic petrol or honey nuances upon long aging.
