The Riesling italian variety, known by the synonyms Welschriesling, Olaszrizling and Graševina, is a wine grape used for producing high-quality white wines. Research work within the framework of breeding, such as the Riesling Italian-3 Bl clone, is aimed at selecting forms with increased fertility and yield compared to the base population.

Individual breeding forms are distinguished by a lack of tendency towards millerandage. Regarding disease resistance, the variety is characterized ambiguously: individual clones show resistance, however, in a number of studies, the species as a whole was classified as having increased susceptibility to Phomopsis viticola. Exact ripening times depend on the climatic conditions of the cultivation region and the sum of active temperatures.
