Variety description

The vines are characterized by medium vigor and require vine management. The variety belongs to the medium-late or late maturity group. Leaves are medium-sized, three- or five-lobed, light green in color with a broad U-shaped sinus at the base of the petiole.

Bunches are conical in shape and medium-sized, often characterized by high density. Berries are medium-sized, oval, dark purple in color with a thick waxy bloom and thin skin. Due to the characteristics of the skin, the variety is susceptible to gray mold (Botrytis cinerea) under high humidity, but possesses relative resistance to spring frosts.

The variety prefers a hot, dry climate and clay-limestone soils. Yield is stable and medium. Finished wines possess pronounced notes of cherry, plum, and blackberry, complemented by spicy, smoky, and leathery undertones during aging.
