The variety is a result of the cross (Revolta × Alibernet) × André. It belongs to the teinturière type, which means an intense dark red color of not only the skin but also the berry pulp.

The bunch is of medium size, loose or medium density, cylindrical-conical in shape. The berries are small or medium, broadly elliptical, dark blue, almost black in color.

The variety is resistant to winter and spring frosts, undemanding to growing conditions, but requires control of the crop load. Training with a single trunk and the use of long fruit canes is recommended.

Wines from this variety possess a deep color, a full tannic taste, and an aroma of blackcurrant, elderberry, and spices. The drinks are suitable for medium-term aging.
