The name Uva Greca is a collective term under which different grape varieties may be hidden. Most often it is used as a synonym for the variety Malvasia Bianca. This is an Italian autochthonous wine variety with an early ripening period and high yield, having a medium five-lobed leaf, a cylindrical-conical cluster, and rounded yellowish-green berries. The variety is sensitive to fungal diseases and low temperatures.

In the Calabria region, the name Uva Greca is applied to the Guardavalle variety, also known as Greco bianco. This is an autochthonous late-ripening variety originating from a natural cross of Mantonico Bianco with an unknown variety. In historical publications of the 19th century, the name could also refer to other local forms of grapes, for example, to the Trebbiano di Spagna variety.
