The variety Uva Tosca N. is a dark-skinned grape (the index N. indicates black or blue-black berry color). Genetically, it is the result of crossing the varieties Schiava and Crepallocchi. In literature, it is often referred to by the synonym Montanara.
This grape is classified as a wine variety and does not belong to table varieties. The variety is characterized as productive. Being a member of the Vitis vinifera species, it possesses the standard susceptibility to phylloxera and fungal diseases typical for European varieties.
