Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is autochthonous to Crete; its genetic origin is linked to the natural crossing of the Lacrima Bianca variety. It is a vigorous and productive vine, with a ripening period varying from early to mid-early depending on growing conditions.

The plant possesses heat tolerance, is moderately resistant to downy mildew, and is sensitive to powdery mildew. Vidiano B. is considered difficult to cultivate and prefers calcareous, well-drained soils. The berries have thick skin, and the variety is used exclusively for the production of full-bodied wines with aging potential.
