The variety is intended for winemaking. In catalogues, it is classified as Noir, however, there are mentions of it in lists of rare white varieties. A detailed description of morphological characteristics, including plant height, ripening time, and disease resistance, is absent in open publications.
The variety is considered autochthonous, rather than a product of targeted breeding. It is included in official European catalogues of grapevine varieties and is being studied within the framework of efforts to preserve the biodiversity of Italian vineyards and to analyze the chemical composition of local wines.
