Planting density is measured in thousands or millions of plants per hectare and determines the area of nutrition for each individual specimen. In the case of high-density crops, intraspecific competition occurs, leading to stem elongation, weakening of the root system, and an increased risk of lodging, whereas in sparse crops, resources are not fully utilized and the area becomes overgrown with weeds.
