A physiological disorder of radish roots that serves as a culling criterion for unmarketable produce, caused by irregular water supply and imbalanced mineral nutrition.

Cracking rates depend directly on agronomic practices, including the uniformity of soil moisture and the availability of calcium and boron to the plants. Excessive nitrogen fertilizer application and delayed harvesting significantly increase the risk of damage, which reduces shelf life and lowers overall crop marketability by 70–95% depending on the cultivar's resistance.
