A fungal disease of barley caused by Septoria hordei and Septoria nodorum. It appears in the middle of the growing season as whitening, drying spots with pycnidia in the center.

The pathogens of Septoria blotch on barley are fungi of the species Septoria hordei and Septoria nodorum. The disease manifests mainly in the middle of the growing season, affecting the leaf blade.
The main symptoms include the formation of whitening, drying spots, in the center of which small black fruiting bodies — pycnidia — are formed. Under high humidity, the infection can lead to mass wilting of leaves and reduced yields, although this disease has less economic significance in barley compared to other leaf spot diseases.
