Tolerance in soft wheat is defined as a quantitative trait evaluated by comparing yield or growth performance under stress and non-stress conditions. Key assessment methods include the calculation of STI, TOL, YSI, and SSI indices, where, for instance, a YSI value ≥ 1 serves as an indicator of high tolerance to moisture deficit.
