Variety description

10 August 2026

The Picual variety is an ancient Spanish variety intended primarily for olive oil production, with a yield ranging from 20 to 27% of fruit weight. The trees are characterized by vigorous growth and high productivity; the fruits have a characteristic shape with a small pointed tip.

The variety belongs to the early ripening category and possesses high adaptability to various soil types and climatic conditions. Oil from Picual fruits is distinguished by its stability due to a high content of oleic acid and polyphenols, however, the tree itself is not recommended for intensive «hedgerow» type plantings.
