The Anoisana tree reaches a height of 5–8 meters and has long lateral branches. The leaves are light green, with an average length of 5.86 cm and a width of 1.50 cm. The fruits have an oval-conical shape, with an average weight of about 1.6 g each and a pulp-to-pit ratio of 6:1.
The variety is valued for its high oil quality, with oil content in the fruit reaching 21%. The variety is productive but prone to alternate bearing. The tree is characterized as hardy and resistant to drought and olive knot.
It is also known by the names Thiaki, Thiakos, Plexidenia, and Dopia. The variety was developed through folk selection and centuries of adaptation to the conditions of the Ionian Islands.
