Variety description

10 August 2026

The Cornalhuda variety is a traditional Portuguese olive cultivar. In historical agronomic publications from the late 19th century, it is mentioned as one of the varieties grown in the regions of Portugal.

The variety is used as an object for molecular genetic research aimed at assessing the diversity of local olive plantations, particularly in the Trás-os-Montes region, using ISSR and SSR markers. Detailed agronomic characteristics of the plant are absent in open publications.
