The Courbeil tree is characterized by weak growth vigor. It has been genetically established that the pollen parent is the Spanish variety Gordal Sevillana. The plant possesses high drought tolerance.
The fruits are used to produce olive oil, which has a specific pungent taste with notes of raspberry jam. The variety is included in programs for the conservation and reintroduction of old local varieties adapted to the conditions of the southwestern part of France.
