The name CORSICANA refers to a category of local genotypes common in Sardinia, and exists in two main varieties: Corsicana da Olio, intended for oil production, and Corsicana da Mensa, used for table purposes.
Scientific data indicate a genetic similarity or identity of Corsicana da Olio with the Frantoio variety, which indicates a wide prevalence of synonymy. As a local genetic resource, this olive type is studied in collections in the context of productivity and adaptation to local growing conditions, however, standardized quantitative characteristics for it are absent.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
