The tree is characterized by medium vigor. The variety is autochthonous to the Draguignan region of the Var department and belongs to the category of landrace selection. Studies confirm that the variety has the capacity for partial self-pollination.

The oil obtained from the olives of this variety is distinguished by an intense fruity taste with herbaceous notes and hints of raw artichoke. The variety is often included in blends with other Provençal varieties to obtain high-quality products.
