Evergreen shrub with a compact crown, reaching a height of 0.6 to 1.2 meters. The main feature of the plant is its bright red-purple glossy foliage, which retains its shade throughout the year.
During the spring period, the plant produces dark red bell-shaped flowers. Flowering may not be very abundant, so the variety is more often grown as an ornamental foliage crop.
The variety is characterized by winter hardiness in USDA zones 7–9 and resistance to Verticillium wilt. It is intended for small gardens and landscape compositions, and it combines well with heathers, camellias, and Japanese maples.
