The variety is the result of a natural cross between a variety from the Pinot group and Muscat blanc à Petits Grains. The plant has medium-sized, round, five-lobed and deeply dissected leaves. The clusters are small or medium, cylindrical in shape, often winged, ranging from moderately dense to loose. The berries are round, greenish-yellow in color, with thick skin.
The variety has good winter hardiness, but is susceptible to downy mildew, powdery mildew, Botrytis, and chlorosis. Wine from this variety is distinguished by a golden-yellow color, low acidity level, and a nutmeg aroma. It is used for the production of young wines and in blends.
