The variety is a French autochthon specific to the Maritime Alps region. It is a wine grape variety permitted for cultivation in the Bellet appellation and is often used in blends to create rosé wines. The variety belongs to the medium ripening period, with harvesting taking place in mid-September.

Morphologically, the variety is characterized by small, deeply lobed, five-lobed leaves with dense pubescence on the underside. The bunches are medium-sized, compact, and cylindrical or cylindrical-conical in shape. The berries are medium-sized, round, with dark purple or dark blue skin and juicy pulp.

The vines have medium vigor and good shoot maturation. The variety demonstrates resistance to heat and drought, but is prone to grey mold infection. To obtain high-quality wines with good aromatic properties, it is recommended to limit yields.
