The variety originates from the Haute-Garonne region and is traditionally associated with the Fronton wine-growing area. Genetically, it is the product of a crossing between Savagnin and Plant de Cauzette. The grape belongs to late-maturing varieties and is characterized as quite hardy, possessing resistance to heat and rot.
Morphologically, the variety is distinguished by the presence of berries with thick skins. It is used for the production of dry white wines, which are characterized by pronounced minerality, structure, good acidity, and an aromatic profile with notes of stone fruits, pear, green melons, and lemon undertones.
