The variety is the result of crossing Zala Gyöngye (Perle von Zala) and Perlette. Its genetic composition includes genes of Vitis berlandieri, Vitis rupestris, and Vitis vinifera. The variety is intended for use as table grapes.

The plant is vigorous with a semi-erect growth habit, requiring trellising. Clusters are large or very large with long peduncles. Berries have skin of moderate thickness and firm, crunchy flesh with a slightly muscat flavor.

The variety matures at the same time as Chasselas. It possesses a certain tolerance to downy mildew, powdery mildew, and grey mold; however, minimal fungicidal treatment is required for reliable crop protection.
