The variety has a number of synonyms, including Malvasia, Veltlínské červené rané and Veltliner Rouge Précoce. Leaves are medium-sized, wedge-shaped or pentagonal, with red coloration of the main vein. Bunches are large, dense, cylindrical with shoulders. Berries are medium-sized, oval, with pink or reddish skin and a neutral taste.
Vines have vigorous growth. The variety is classified as early or very early, is considered undemanding regarding soil, but is sensitive to fungal diseases and Botrytis cinerea. Frost resistance is estimated as low.
The grape is used primarily in winemaking for the production of white wines with moderate acidity and notes of flowers, herbs, and bitter almond, and can also be consumed as a table grape.
