The variety possesses low to medium vigor, with shoots having a horizontal or semi-erect growth habit. The formation of a large number of lateral shoots (suckers) is characteristic. The plant allows for short pruning.
Bunches are small and very compact, berries are small and round in shape. The variety is susceptible to downy mildew (Plasmopara viticola) and powdery mildew (Oidium tuckeri), but shows resistance to grey mold (Botrytis cinerea).
Wines made from this variety are distinguished by good structure, combining the traits of Pinot Noir and the fruity notes of the Gamay variety.
