Variety description

The variety is characterized by medium vine vigor with high shoot growth energy, requiring a Veronese pergola training system. Leaves are medium, round, five-lobed, with dense pubescence on the underside. Clusters are medium to large, conical, and medium-dense. Berries are smaller than medium size, round, golden-yellow when ripe, with thick skin.

Garganega ripens in October and has frost resistance from -15 to -18°C. The variety is prone to chlorosis and sensitive to a number of grapevine diseases, and has brittle shoots. Yield is high and stable, requiring control to maintain wine quality. Due to the thick skin, it is suitable for producing dessert wines using the appassimento method.
