10 August 2026
The variety was discovered in an abandoned vineyard in the vicinity of Arezzo. Genetic studies confirmed that it is an independent variety, having no close ties to other well-known representatives of the region, with probable parental forms Cabernet Franc and Barbera.
The variety belongs to the technical (wine) category. The harvest is collected at the end of September. Currently, the grape is cultivated on an extremely limited scale, almost exclusively at the Fattoria di Gratena estate.
