The variety is autochthonous to the Liguria region, Italy, with its historical center of cultivation in the province of Savona. It is a wine grape variety intended for the production of dry white and sparkling wines, used both in DOC category blends and in IGT category monovarietal wines.
The leaf is medium to large in size, round or wedge-shaped, entire or three-lobed. The cluster is medium, winged, and of moderate density. The berry is medium-sized, round, yellow-green in color with a thick skin.
The variety ripens at the end of September. Wines produced from it have a light straw color, a delicate aroma with notes of green apples and white peach, and a pronounced acidity.
