The variety was obtained by crossing Chasselas violet and Muscat Ottonel. The bushes have 3- or 5-lobed deeply dissected leaves and hermaphrodite flowers. Young shoots and tips are distinguished by a wine-red color and arachnoid pubescence.
Bunches are cylindro-conical, weighing 150–230 g, of medium density. Berries are almost round, bright wine-red in color with a pruinose bloom, covered with thick skin. The flesh is fleshy, crisp, with a low level of acidity.
The variety is productive, but demanding regarding soil quality and fertilization. It is used mainly fresh, and is also frequently used in breeding programs to develop new varieties.
