Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is native to the provinces of Savona and Genoa. The grapes are used to produce both monovarietal wines and blends, complementing the Pigato and Moscato Bianco varieties. Synonyms for the variety include the names Lumassina, Buzzetto, and Mataosso.

The plant exhibits high vine vigor. The leaf is medium to large in size, round or wedge-shaped, entire or three-lobed. The cluster is pyramidal in shape, compact, and winged. The berries are medium-sized, yellow-green in color, and covered with thick skin.

It belongs to the late-ripening varieties; harvesting is carried out in late September to early October. Wines made from this variety have a light yellow color with greenish highlights and are characterized by high acidity, freshness, mineral notes, as well as floral, honey, and herbaceous undertones.
