Variety description

10 August 2026

The classic Pinot family is represented by wine varieties used for the production of red, rosé, and sparkling wines. The bushes have medium vigor, the clusters are small, dense, and cylindrical in shape, resembling a pine cone. The berries are medium-sized, round, dark blue in color with thin skin. The variety is of medium-late maturity, susceptible to downy mildew, powdery mildew, and gray mold, and is sensitive to spring frosts.

Hybrid forms, such as «Пино Мичуринский», were bred for cultivation in northern regions. These forms possess increased frost resistance, disease resistance, and high yield. Unlike classic varieties, they are multipurpose and are suitable both for the preparation of juices and wine, as well as for fresh consumption.
