The variety is a product of a natural crossing between an unknown variety and Gouais Blanc. The grape bunches are of medium or small size, conical in shape, and have high density, which determines the name of the variety. The berries are small or medium, spherical or slightly oval, with thin delicate skin of a golden-yellow hue. The leaf is medium-sized, pentagonal, and three-lobed.
Pinela belongs to late-ripening varieties and is considered temperamental to cultivate. Due to the thin skin of the berries, the variety is sensitive to grey mold and requires planting in well-ventilated areas. At the same time, the variety tolerates dry soils and strong winds well. Wines made from it possess fine acidity with aromas of yellow fruits and floral notes.
