ActiveOlea europaea L. · Olive
TODOLIVO S.L.

The tree is distinguished by high vigor, an open crown shape with low foliage density, and medium-sized lanceolate leaves. The root system is powerful and deep. The variety is adapted to challenging conditions, including rocky soils and steep slopes, and demonstrates resistance to cold and drought, though it is sensitive to the olive fruit fly and olive knot (Pseudomonas savastanoi).
The fruits change color from light green to reddish-purple upon ripening and have a large pit, which precludes their table use. The variety is partially self-compatible, and bearing is characterized by biennialism. The harvest period lasts from October to January.
Biancolilla oil is prized for its refinement, delicate fruity aroma with notes of fresh grass, artichoke, almond, and green tomatoes. Oil yield from the fruit is rated as low.
