The tree has medium vigor and an open canopy with low foliage density. The variety is characterized as early-ripening and is partially self-compatible; pollinators such as Tondo di Cagliari and Bosana are recommended to increase yields. The plant propagates well by cuttings.
The fruits are large, weighing about 6 g, with an elliptical asymmetrical shape and a characteristic nipple at the end, turning purple-red upon ripening. The variety is characterized by high but periodic productivity, and the oil obtained from it has a delicate fruity profile.
The plant is sensitive to the olive fruit fly, olive knot, and peacock spot (Cycloconium oleaginum). This variety is a local autochthonous species historically widespread in the southern part of Sardinia.
