The variety is native to the Spanish regions of Cuenca and Guadalajara. The fruits are used for the production of olive oil protected by the designation of origin Aceite de la Alcarria.
The oil of the variety is characterized as silky and balanced, with aromas of fresh grass, forest notes and hazelnut, as well as hints of green leaf and a light spicy aftertaste. Early harvesting is recommended to preserve organoleptic qualities.
The variety shows sensitivity to olive knot caused by the bacterium Pseudomonas savastanoi.
